The commissioning ceremony of the Kazakhstan terminal in Xi'an, China was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on the 10th, marking the official opening and operation of the Almaty logistics station in Kazakhstan. The Almaty logistics station is designed by China Railway First Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Iron First Institute"). It is located on the south side of GTS2 Station in Almaty.
The site covers an area of 9.8 hectares. The project includes China Xi'an Kazakhstan terminal, two newly established railway loading and unloading lines, 23,400 square meters of high-standard warehouses, 38,600 square meters of container paving, and 18,700 square meters of ordinary cargo paving. It is understood that as an important guarantee facility to support regional industrial exports and Sino-Kazakhstan cooperation, this project is an important logistics node serving the exchanges between Central Asia trains and regional enterprises. The project is based on the Xi'an International Port Central Asia Freight Train, and integrates the import, export and transit cargo logistics of Central Asian countries through multi-modal integration, providing comprehensive container transportation services such as container transactions, arrivals and storage for commodity transit and exports.
Liu Xinyue, chief designer of the Iron Academy project, said that as an important node project for jointly building the "Belt and Road" initiative, the formal operation of the China Xi'an Kazakhstan Terminal Project is expected to further promote the development of container transportation, multimodal transport, and e-commerce logistics between China and Kazakhstan, promote production capacity and investment cooperation between the two countries, and build a sound and diversified regional industrial system.
