Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian said that 50 years ago, the older generation of leaders of China and the Philippines made historic decisions to establish diplomatic relations with a long-term strategic perspective. With the joint efforts of leaders of the two countries and people from all walks of life, China-Philippines has made great progress in exchanges and cooperation in various fields, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
Recently, all sectors of the Philippines have spontaneously organized various celebrations, allowing us to deeply feel the ardent expectations of the Philippine people for China-Philippines, and also feel the solid support of civil exchanges and cultural exchanges to the bilateral relations. As the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, we must also review the original intention of establishing diplomatic relations, listen carefully to the voices of the people of the two countries, jointly eliminate interference, and promote China-Philippines relations to return to the track of healthy and stable development as soon as possible. Philippine Vice President Sarah Duterte extended sincere greetings to the overseas Chinese in the Philippines through a video speech, saying that the close cooperation between the two countries has promoted great progress in the development of various industries in the Philippines, and the friendship between the two countries will continue to benefit the people of both countries.
In his speech, Philippine Foreign Minister-elect Lazaro thanked the Philippine and Chinese society for its important contribution to the development of the Philippines and said that over the years, the Philippines-China relations have both developed and experienced challenges, but we have always pursued harmonious coexistence even in the face of differences. Zhao Qiping, chairman of the Federation of All Philippines and China, said that the Philippine and China society is willing to continue to work together, actively play the role of a bridge and link, and contribute to promoting China-Philippines cultural, economic and trade exchanges and civil friendship.
