China Africa holds one belt, one road and another opportunity for International Symposium

He said that the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic this year has been spreading, wreaking havoc on the world, seriously affecting the normal social and economic life of all countries in the world, and also bringing severe challenges to international relations. China Africa relations are no exception. How to deal with the challenge actively? How to actively seize opportunities? It has become a problem that we must face and think about. It is gratifying that this kind of thinking is constantly widening and deepening. We can believe that today's seminar will certainly become a platform for mutual communication and exchange. Through exchanges, Chinese and African scholars and friends can promote understanding, increase consensus and jointly promote the further development of Sino African friendly cooperative relations.



Shu Yunguo also introduced the African research center of Shanghai Normal University. He said that the African Studies Center of Shanghai Normal University was established in 1998. In the course of more than 20 years of research on Africa, it has gradually formed its own characteristics. The research focuses on three areas: African history, African economy and Sino African relations. Two magazines are published each year, the African economic development report and the African Economic Review. Published relevant research results every year, including papers and monographs. In 2020, he published academic history of greater Zimbabwe and annals of nations Mali (Revised Edition). Translation and introduction of internationally influential research results on Africa every year. In the past two years, he has published Austin's "African Economic History", as well as van Sinar's "as the head of history" and Alago's "history of African history".



Shu Yunguo said that as the national and regional research base of the Ministry of education, the African research center of Shanghai Normal University strives to play the role of a research base as a platform. It holds two academic seminars every year, one in the first half and one in the second half, with the themes of the current situation of Africa and the history of Africa.
