On September 16, this year’s 22th typhoon Mangkhut landed in Hong Kong and Macao and caused property loss to local people. MOFCOM has paid high attention to it by actively taking measures to ensure the supply of agricultural and sideline products from mainland and the reconstruction materials. First, MOFCOM has kept in touch with Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments timely, and worked on the deployment of the mainland operating companies to launch emergency plans to ensure the stable supply of fresh agricultural and sideline products in the markets of Hong Kong and Macao. Second, it actively got informed of the disaster and the demand for disaster relief emergency materials, and asked the relevant provincial and municipal commerce authorities to prepare for the allocation of emergency goods at the earliest time.
Next, MOFCOM will continue to pay close attention to the disaster relief situation in Hong Kong and Macao. According to the needs of the Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments, MOFCOM will ensure adequate and high-quality supply of agricultural and sideline products to Hong Kong and Macao, and actively organize the supply of disaster relief materials to support Hong Kong and Macao in disaster relief work.
