The 12th China-Latin America and the Caribbean (China-LAC) Business Summit kicked off in Zhuhai, south China's Guangdong Province, on November 1, 2018. Liu Xincheng, vice chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), delivers a keynote speech at the opening ceremony.
Liu Xincheng said, the Belt and Road Initiative has given new impetus to the practical cooperation between China and Latin America. China is willing to deepen strategic mutual trust, enhance economic and trade cooperation, and adhere to the notion of friendly negotiation to achieve new development of China-Latin American relations at higher levels so as to jointly build up a community of shared destiny.
Liu Xincheng also met Foreign Minister of Uruguay Rodolfo Nin Novoa and other distinguished guests and visited China-Latin America Trade & Investment Expo with them.
The business summit, jointly hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), People’s Government of Guangdong Province, People’s Bank of China and Inter-American Development Bank, is themed at "Promoting Belt & Road global cooperation, seizing new opportunities for China-LAC economic and trade development". Nearly 1,700 delegates from home and abroad participated in the summit.
CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
