On November 12, a China-Europe freight train loaded with auto parts, furniture, and household appliances departed from Shijiazhuang International Land Port en route to Moscow, Russia. This marked the 1033rd China-Europe freight train to depart from the port this year. Shijiazhuang International Land Port has become the first China-Europe freight train hub platform in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to exceed one thousand trains annually.
Since the beginning of this year, Shijiazhuang International Land Port has fully leveraged its advantages as a regional gathering center for China-Europe freight trains in North China, continuously increasing the frequency of train departures, and building efficient and smooth international logistics channels that extend in multiple directions and connect land and sea routes. In the first ten months of this year, it has transported more than 99,000 standard containers, weighing over 1.2 million tons, with a total value of 10.57 billion yuan.
On average, three to four trains depart daily, with a ratio of outbound to return trips of 1:1.8, achieving heavy load in both directions and efficient operation. The breakthrough of 1000 train departures is a direct reflection of market recognition and strong evidence of our service in promoting regional economic development, said Liu Jingpeng, general manager of Shijiazhuang International Land Port. The 18 opened international transport trunk lines have basically covered major cargo sources in Asia and Europe. Outbound trains are mainly high-value-added products such as auto parts, machinery equipment, and photovoltaic components, while return trains are loaded with specialty raw materials such as feed wheat flour, boards, and zinc ingots, realizing mutual benefits and win-win outcomes. This has effectively promoted trade and industrial complementarity among Belt and Road co-construction countries.
The rapid development of China-Europe freight trains at Shijiazhuang International Land Port is a vivid manifestation of Hebei's active integration into the Belt and Road initiative and deepening high-level opening up. Currently, Shijiazhuang International Land Port has built an international logistics channel covering 50+ countries and regions on the Eurasian continent, effectively ensuring the stability of the international economic and trade industrial chain and supply chain, and providing strong support for high-quality development of regional economies. To ensure the stable and healthy development of the freight train services, Lücheng Customs under the jurisdiction of Shijiazhuang Customs focuses on the development needs of China-Europe freight trains at Shijiazhuang International Land Port, promotes innovative business models such as Railway Express + Direct Loading and Unloading and multi-modal transportation for export goods by rail and road, and bonded consolidation of goods with multiple names.
Implementing a 7x24 hours booking customs clearance service and dedicated declaration window service, combined with domestic freight deduction and other facilitation policies, multiple practical measures are taken to improve customs clearance efficiency, helping the number of train departures reach new highs. It is understood that since the first departure of China-Europe freight trains at Shijiazhuang International Land Port in 2018, more than 3300 trains have been operated, ranking first in key indicators such as the number of departures and cargo volume in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
