Mengyin Underground Milky Way Tourist Area(Blessings Milky Way Tourist Area) lies in Wanzhuang Village, which is 6 kilometers northwest of Mengyin County. It is well-known with its “golden tub base” landform since time immemorial. With an area of more than 4,000 mu (about 267 hectares), this is an ideal tourist resort for entertainment, combining a variety of recreational activities such as climbing, dabbling, camping, art painting, experiencing the ancient culture and exploring karst caves. The stone houses here witnessed the vicissitudes of years on this land.
The karst cave here formed 120 million years ago is the longest and most intact underground natural wonder ever found in Shandong province. The cave, with a total length of over 10,000 meters, consists of three layers in vertical. The upper layer is stalactite grotto, which is inhabited by thousands of bats in either black or white colors. During the exploration of this cave, fossil remains of over 40 kinds of animals have been unearthed, e.g. the teeth of saber-toothed tigers, the teeth and shanks of wild boars, the skulls of bears, antlers, and the fossil of horned dinosaurs, etc., which are rare to see in karst caves in the north part of China.
