Former Site of Division 115 Headquarters of the Eighth Route Army & Shandong Provincial Government (Manor of Zhuang Family, Dadian)
No. 1 Manor in China：Manor of Zhuang Family in Dadian, Ju’nan County of Shandong province
Situated in Dadian Town, Ju’nan County of Linyi City in Shandong Province, it is the former site of the headquarters of Division 115 of the Eighth Route Army, the former site of Shandong Sub-bureau of CCP, and the birthplace of Shandong Government. Therefore, it is a great place for further understanding of the red culture of Yimeng people. Yimeng Hongsao Exhibition Hall is the only one in China that tells the full story of the heroic women in the wartime.
Manor of Zhuang Family in Dadian, Ju’nan County of Shandong province is one of the largest ancient buildings in China, with a long history of over 600 years. once it belonged to a powerful landlord family, from which several hundred members passed the imperial examination in Ming and Qing Dynasties. That’s why it is named “No. 1 Manor in China”. This family participated in the Westernization Movement, supported the May 4th Movement, and became the pioneer in the development of national industry in Shandong and China. On Aug. 13th, 1945, the first people’s provincial government led by the Communist Party was born here, and Ju’nan became the command centre of the army, the party and the government in Shandong Province. So it is regarded as “A Second Yan’an” in Shandong.
