China-aided Central African Culture and Art Center in Kinshasa, Congo (DRC) completed

Xinhua News Agency, Kinshasa, December 14 (Reporter Shi Yu) The inauguration ceremony of the Central African Culture and Art Center in Kinshasa, built with the assistance of the Chinese government, was held on the 14th. Congolese President Tshisekedi and Prime Minister Touluka attended the ceremony, and Tshisekedi cut the ribbon for the project.

When inspecting the project, Tshisekedi said that this project condensed the wisdom and sweat of the people of the two countries. The project will fully release the potential of the cultural industry in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and help build the Democratic Republic of the Congo into a hub for regional cultural exchanges.

In his speech, Congolese Minister of Culture Elombe said that the People's Palace, Martyrs Stadium and Kinshasa Central African Culture and Art Center and other projects built with the assistance of the Chinese government are examples of Congo-China cooperation. The completion of this project will open up a new situation for the innovative development of Congolese culture and strengthen cultural exchanges among African countries.

Congolese Minister of Higher Education Sombo said that the results of the cooperation between the two countries can be seen everywher in the streets and alleys of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the friendship between Congo and China is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

Zhao Bin, Chinese ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, said in his speech that the successful completion of this project has added a landmark building to Kinshasa and a new milestone in the relationship between China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The project will effectively improve the cultural infrastructure of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, meet the growing cultural needs of the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and will become a cradle for cultivating future artists in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and an important cultural display window and exchange platform for the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Kinshasa Central African Culture and Art Center is located on Triumphal Avenue in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its main body consists of the cultural center and the National Academy of Arts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, including a 2,000-seat theater, a 800-seat small theater and a National Academy of Arts campus that can accommodate 2,000 students. In 2019, Tshisekedi laid the foundation for the project.
