China and Egypt sign economic and technological cooperation agreement

Cairo, November 9 (Xinhua) China and Egypt recently signed an economic and technological cooperation agreement.

The signing ceremony was held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, on July 7. Chinese ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang and Egyptian Minister of international cooperation Rania Mashad signed the agreement on behalf of the two governments respectively.

Liao Liqiang said at the signing ceremony that the signing of the agreement is a new milestone in the field of China Egypt development cooperation and an important embodiment of China Egypt high-level practical cooperation under the framework of comprehensive strategic partnership. China and Egypt have one of the "one belt, one road" framework to promote development cooperation in the fields of health, education, transportation, information and communications, and aerospace. They have jointly implemented several important projects including the ten day light rail transit in Ramadan and the integrated test center of the Egyptian satellite assembly. China is willing to work with Egypt to inject strong impetus into accelerating the implementation of the UN 2030 agenda for sustainable development and achieving global sustainable development.

Mashad said that China is one of Egypt's most important development partners. Fang thanked China for its support and assistance to the economic and social development of Egypt for a long time, especially during the period of COVID-19's selfless help to Egypt. This fully reflects the deep friendship and sincere feelings between the two countries. Egypt highly appreciates China's people-centered development concept. Egypt and China, both populous countries, have a deep understanding that development is the key to solving all problems. Egypt hopes to learn more from China's development experience and introduce advanced technology to promote Egypt's social and economic development and enhance the well-being of the people.
