The kick-off meeting of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' "Belt and Road" innovation development major consulting project was held in Beijing recently. Bai Chunli, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and chairman of the “One Belt and One Road” Alliance of International Scientific Organizations (ANSO), said that more innovations should be promoted to serve countries along the “Belt and Road”, strengthen the problem and demand orientation, strengthen communication and cohesion of various topics, and adopt case analysis Do a good job on-site research in a way to ensure the steady progress of the consulting project.
Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Yao Tandong, Chen Fahu, Fu Bojie, Cui Peng, Jiao Nianzhi, Guo Huadong, Zhao Yuliang, Bao Xinhe, Wang Shouyang, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, and Nie Xiaowei, a researcher at the Institute of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other experts respectively reported their research plans.
The content of the report mainly includes the innovative development of the “Belt and Road” under the new trend of world technological innovation and development, the innovative path to respond to the “Belt and Road” climate change, the “Belt and Road” key regions and national economic forecasts and warnings, and scientific and technological cooperation in the construction of the “Belt and Road”. The role of the “Belt and Road” sustainable development under the new situation, natural disasters and the “Belt and Road” people’s livelihood security needs, the impact of climate change on the Maritime Silk Road, the digital status and challenges of the construction of the Digital Silk Road, How to transform scientific and technological innovation in the "Belt and Road" and the status of "Belt and Road" talent training, and put forward research ideas, research content, personnel composition and expected goals.
Participants conducted in-depth exchanges and put forward specific suggestions on the next step. Relevant officials and experts from the Central Policy Research Office, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, National Health Commission, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Center for International Economic Exchange and other institutions attended the meeting.
