The total length of the China-Laos Railway is more than 1,000 kilometers, the domestic section is 508.53 kilometers, and the total length of Laos is 414 kilometers. The foundation stone was laid in November 2015 and is expected to open to traffic in December 2021. It is the first Chinese-based investment and construction and the entire line adopts Chinese technology. After the completion and opening to traffic, it will end the history of no railway in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province.
