Cambodia's largest dual fuel internal combustion engine project contracted by Chinese enterprises has officially generated power: "the main engine and auxiliary system are running normally, the oil consumption value of the main engine is normal, the full load operation reaches 200 MW, and the power generation is successful!" On December 14, with the cheers of the field staff, the 200MW dual fuel power station project in Cambodia, which was contracted by China energy construction Gezhouba Group, officially passed the performance test and assessment of Cambodia state power company. All 12 units were successfully connected to the grid for power generation and smoothly handed over to Cambodia for use.
As the largest dual fuel internal combustion engine power generation project in Cambodia, the completion of the power station will provide an average annual power generation of 1.75 billion kwh for the Cambodian power grid, accounting for about 19.8% of the total social power consumption in Cambodia. The power station is located in Gandan province near the capital Phnom Penh, which will greatly alleviate the shortage of power supply in the capital area and provide power guarantee for the economic and social development of Cambodia. The construction of the 200 MW dual fuel power station project in Cambodia started in June 2019. On the 11th of the same month, China energy construction Gezhouba Group and Cambodia electric power company signed the EPC contract in Phnom Penh. The project is the first thermal power project of China energy construction Gezhouba Group in Cambodia. The joint venture is composed of China energy construction Gezhouba International Co., Ltd. and energy heavy industry affiliated to Gezhouba equipment company as the general contractor. It cooperates with China energy construction east Design Institute and Anhui Power Construction No.2 company to participate in the construction of key projects.
In the report on sustainable development of Chinese enterprises in Cambodia released this year, Cambodia Asia Vision Institute, one of the three major think tanks in Cambodia, pointed out that the 200 MW dual fuel power station project in Cambodia undertaken by Chinese enterprises will provide power guarantee for Cambodia's economic construction and social livelihood, which is another great achievement of Cambodia China bilateral cooperation. At the same time, the project construction also overcame the adverse impact of the epidemic, demonstrated the efficient style of Chinese enterprises, and injected new content into Cambodia China epidemic prevention cooperation.
