Recently, the Department of Agriculture said that fatal cases of avian influenza had been found in poultry in the United States, which prompted the whole chicken industry to be highly vigilant against the broader avian influenza.

Tyson Foods, the nation's largest meat processor, said it had detected bird flu at a facility of about 240000 chickens in Kentucky, raising concerns about the expansion of the epidemic.

It is reported that the federal government and the Kentucky government have isolated the affected areas and launched an emergency team to curb the spread of the virus. Local health officials said infected poultry were being culled and would not flow into the food market.

Tyson food spokesman Gary Mickelson said that at present, the company is actively cooperating with the government to prevent the spread of the virus. At present, the outbreak of avian influenza is only in one farm and will not affect the overall chicken production level.

In this regard, the US Department of Agriculture confirmed in January that avian influenza virus was found in wild birds in several states along the Atlantic flight route, the main migration route of migratory birds in North America. The virus was detected in wild birds in New Hampshire, Delaware, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and South Carolina, indicating that the virus exists widely in the environment.

Poultry industry and government officials said they had made plans to stop the spread of the epidemic, but they warned that the bird flu virus could be fatal to poultry, driving up the prices of eggs, Turkey and chicken. If enough poultry were infected, the supply of chicken and eggs might be insufficient.

Canada's food safety regulator said bird flu was found in commercial poultry farms in Nova Scotia. At present, some countries and regions around the world have begun to take trade restrictions on Canadian poultry products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said that the highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza virus had erupted in some parts of the country.

Although the CFIA did not specify the specific birds infected with avian influenza in Nova Scotia, it said that avian influenza will spread naturally among birds and may affect edible poultry, including chicken, Turkey, quail and guinea fowl, as well as pet birds and other wild birds.

At present, South Korea and the Philippines have imposed restrictions on poultry products from all over Canada, including live poultry, poultry meat and edible eggs. In addition, the United States, the European Unio, Taiwan, Mexico, Japan and Hong Kong have also imposed restrictions on poultry products in specific areas affected by bird flu in Nova Scotia.

In addition, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said that due to the risk of Salmonella infection, Hampton house brand Chicken Nuggets have been recalled, including Hampton house chicken nuggets sold in Costco.
