MOFCOM Announces the Preliminary Ruling on the Anti-dumping Investigation against imported N-butyl Alcohol Originating in Taiwan, Malaysia and the United States

On September 3, 2018, MOFCOM released Announcement No. 67 of 2018, announcing the preliminary ruling on the anti-dumping investigation against the imported n-butyl alcohol originating in Taiwan, Malaysia and the United States.

MOFCOM made preliminary ruling that dumping exists in n-butyl alcohol originating in Taiwan, Malaysia and the United States, the n-butyl alcohol industry in Chinese mainland has been substantially damaged, and there is a causal relationship between the dumping and the substantive damage. MOFCOM decided to launch provisional anti-dumping measures through guarantee deposits against the imported n-butyl alcohol originating in Taiwan, Malaysia and the United States. According to the ruling, the importers should pay corresponding deposits to the Customs of the People’s Republic of China according to the dumping margin (6.0%-139.8%) when importing n-butyl alcohol originating in Taiwan, Malaysia and the United States since September 4, 2018.
