As a sideline event of the 12th China-LAC Business Summit, a roundtable meeting for trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce and industry between China, Latin American and Caribbean countries, was held in Zhuhai.
The meeting attracted delegates from CCPIT and more than 50 CCPIT sub-councils, as well as delegates from 41 trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce and industry of 24 countries. CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi attended and addressed the meeting.
Lu Pengqi said, CCPIT is advocating the building of an innovative, vigorous and inter-connected cooperation mechanism for trade promotion institutions and chambers of commerce and industry. Lu added that CCPIT is willing to further explore new modes of economic and trade cooperation between China and Latin American and Caribbean countries. The act aimed to enabling the China-LAC match-making at regional and industrial level, deepening the practical cooperation between the two sides.
The major topics for discussion during the meeting included the new mission of trade promotion agencies of China and Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as the new opportunities with regard to Chinese and Latin American economic and trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Both sides jointly issued Zhuhai Declaration, in which delegates agreed to reach consensus to promote policy coordination, connectivity of infrastructure and facilities, unimpeded trade, financial integration, and strengthened people-to-people ties through a consultative process and joint efforts, with the goal of bringing benefits to all. Both sides agreed to oppose unilateralism and trade protectionism, promote China-LAC trade and investment facilitation, build up more effective cooperation mechanism so as to create more highlights concerning Sino-LAC business cooperation.
