CCPIT to Hold Supporting Activities during 1st China International Import Expo

During the 1st China International import Expo (CIIE), CCPIT will hold a number of sideline events in which Chinese and foreign representatives will discuss a number of topics such as global cross-border import, certification, accreditation and testing, international trade facilitation and commercial legal services between China and participating countries.

On the morning of November 6, CCPIT held the Global Cross-Border import and Supply Chain Leadership Summit at the venue of the opening ceremony of the CIIE in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Around 1,500 people will participate in the event. With the theme of “big import, new ecology”, the summit will cover topics such as new retail and globalization, global supply chain innovation based on new technologies, new logistical track for new retail and globalization, new era and new imports, release of cross-border e-commerce big data report, how global trade promotion agencies promote cross-border e-commerce development. The summit will comprise dignitary remarks, keynote speeches and roundtable discussions. Participants are mainly industry experts, corporate leaders in the import field, exhibitors and buyers from various countries and professional audience.

On the morning of November 6, CCPIT will also host a forum on “import Promotion and Legal Cooperation” at the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. The forum will discuss the important role of legal cooperation in import promotion and will explore ways to further enhance the level of exchange and cooperation in commercial legal services between China and the countries participating in the CIIE from aspects such as legal system, intellectual property protection, competition law and dispute resolution, and to create a fair, transparent, law-regulated and predictable business environment which will provide protection and guarantee for the development of China's bilateral and multi-lateral economic and trade relations. Participants in the forum will mainly include CCPIT management, delegations of countries and regions participating in the CIIE, Chinese and foreign industry and corporate representatives, experts and scholars.

On the morning of November 7, CCPIT will hold an international trade facilitation forum for certification, accreditation and testing services at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Hall 4.2 - parallel forum venue A2. The forum is co-organized by the Sate Administration for Market Regulation, the Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) and the CCPIT. With the theme of “transmitting mutual trust and promoting international trade”, the forum will cover a number of topics such as China's certification and accreditation policy, the status and development of international trade facilitation, interpretation of certification and accreditation policy, prospect of certification and accreditation in facilitating international trade and the development trends of certification and accreditation industry and institutions. CCPIT management, CNCA officials, experts in certification and accreditation, representatives of international organizations, industry associations and companies will give speeches and participate in discussions. Participants mainly come from government authorities, foreign-funded institutions, industry associations and multinational corporations.

In addition, in the process of organizing the 1st CIIE, CCPIT, as a member of the Preparatory Committee, is also responsible for leading the work of the expert committee of the on-site command, assisting in sending out domestic invitations, and undertaking the design and construction of national pavilions and corporate pavilions. CCPIT has assisted the International import Expo Bureau to strengthen supervision and management of intellectual property rights and related services on the Expo, and cooperated with the General Administration of Customs to carry out customs clearance services for exhibits.
