An all-cargo chartered plane took off Wednesday night from Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, heading for New York . It marks the launch of Henan's first freight air route to the U.S. for cross-border e-commerce.

The chartered B747-400 cargo plane taking off from Zhengzhou airport carried more than 100 tons of export goods and epidemic prevention supplies to New York.

The chartered flight route to the U.S. is initiated by China Gate Logistics., a subsidiary of Henan Bonded Logistics Group, and implemented by Boeing 747 aircraft with a capacity of 100 tons.

It is planned to run 3 round trips on a regular basis every week. At present, it has already received many orders.

On the same day, a chartered plane dedicated to the export of cross-border e-commerce also embarked on its journey from Zhengzhou to Liege, Belgium.

The province has seen eight cross-border e-commerce chartered flights to Europe since April 8, sending more than 1,000 tons goods to more than 20 countries and realizing  an import and export volume of 272 million yuan.

"To overcome the serious shortage of international capacity caused by the suspension of a large number of passenger routes around the world, we will continue to expand regular charter projects by opening up low-cost cross-border e-commerce charter routes to make up for the shortage of international capacity and secure Henan's e-commerce exports," said Xu Ping, president of Henan Bonded Logistics Group,

It's learned that with the opening of the cross-border e-commerce charter lines to Europe and the U.S., the chartered flight is expected to increase to 9 round trips in a week by the end of May.
