Customs Escorts Maritime Silk Road International Expo
During October 29-31, 2015, Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo was held in Modern International Exhibition Center of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province.
Nearly one thousand enterprises from 50 countries/regions participated in this Expo. At the early stage of preparation, Dongguan Customs House (affiliated to Huangpu Customs District) actively communicated with Expo organizer to better know participants’ clearance requirements and set up Expo-dedicated window to handle registration of exhibits. During the exhibition, two experienced officers were onsite to explain customs policies to exhibitors and traders.
In addition, to ensure timely entry of the exhibits, Dongguan Customs took the following measures since September: set Expo-dedicated window at control point in Liaobu Town to conduct clearance and provide relevant information; offer such humanistic services as clearance reservation to save time cost for enterprises; provide “visiting service” to inspect the exhibits that are not convenient for transit to the control point.

“It is our second time to participate in Maritime Silk Road International Expo this year. What I feel the most is that exhibit clearance gets more and more efficient through better and better Customs services,” said Mr. Wang in charge of customs declaration of Global Nutritious Drinks. “Despite the second time, we don’t understand yet some of filing and clearance formalities. As soon as we arrived, we saw officers providing consulting service on site, giving guidebooks to Customs clearance for the Expo, and telling us how to go through registration and clearance and how to manage exhibits when the Expo is over, related descriptions in the guidebooks too. All those really saved our time and worry.”
