UN report: Panama ranks sixth in Latin America in terms of readiness for new technologies

 According to a report released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD, UNCTAD) on February 25, Panama ranks sixth in the Latin American region in terms of readiness for new technologies.

      Panama’s "Panama Las Americas" reported that the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development issued a report on February 25, assessing the research and development of new technologies in 158 economies, the development of the telecommunications industry, and the overall locality of new technologies.       The report shows that Panama ranks sixth in the Latin American region in terms of readiness for new technologies, and 67th in the world overall, while five Latin American countries including Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Argentina rank ahead of Panama.

On the whole, the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, South Korea and other countries rank high. Although China has taken the lead in research and development, it ranks 25th due to its shortcomings in the development of the telecommunications industry.
