Linyi, Nov. 8, 2014 (Linyi China) -- 2014 Forum on Development of China’s Ginkgo Industry, namely The 2nd China Tancheng Ginkgo Products Fair opened formally on Nov. 8, 2014 at Culture & Sports Center of Tancheng County in Linyi City, East China’s Shandong Province.
Tancheng, The County of Ginkgo, is located at the south tip of Linyi City, Shandong Province. With the sub-humid continental monsoon climate featuring four distinct seasons and rich soils, Tancheng has particularly good conditions for agricultural production, especially for ginkgo. Beyond that, Tancheng has a time-honored tradition of planting ginkgo. Historical records show that the oldest ginkgo tree in Xincun Town of Tancheng County was planted during Emperor Yuan’s region (about 40 B.C.) of Western Han Dynasty. Besides, about 20 thousands of ginkgo trees of more than one hundred years grow very well here.
With the ongoing development and improvement of gingko industrial chain over the years, ginkgo industry has become the pillar industry of Tancheng. based on its profound history of ginkgo, Tancheng was named as The County of Ginkgo in China in 1999. Additionally, Tancheng’s ginkgo was patented as TANCHENGYINXING by the Trademark Office under the State Administration for Industry & Commerce in July, 2009.
