This is the first mascot released by the Canton fair since its establishment in 1957. Haobao is a boy's name. Bao is a homonym for bee, which means precious. It symbolizes that the Canton Fair is a shining treasure in the history of China's foreign trade development and has made important contributions to China's opening to the outside world and economic and social development. HAONI, a girl's name and homonym for honey, means friendship and symbolizes that the Canton Fair is a link of friendship, a bridge of trade and a golden business card of China. It plays an important role in promoting friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign people. The initials of the two mascots are "good", which means that the seller is good, the buyer is good, China is good, the world is good, and good is good.

Every detail of this pair of bees has rich implications. The Guangzhou flowers, trees, cotton and L0G0 Baoxiang flowers of the Canton Fair represent the red gene and brand value. The dialog head and Antenna Antennae of bees play a role in negotiation, exchange and trade cooperation on behalf of the Canton Fair, so as to make China and foreign interconnected, mutually beneficial and win-win. Haobao's hexagonal wings and HAONI's circular wings represent technological progress, innovation and empowerment respectively; It symbolizes "double circulation" and "double integration".
