Uzbekistan's Special Representative for the WTO Affairs, Urunov, said recently that Uzbekistan has completed bilateral negotiations with the United Kingdom to join the World Trade Organization. Uzbekistan media quoted Urunov as saying on the 2nd that Uzbekistan has completed bilateral negotiations with the United Kingdom to join the World Trade Organization, and the relevant protocol is planned to be signed in Geneva in the near future.
Urunov said that at the end of last month, the Ukrainian delegation went to London to hold negotiations with the UK. At present, the negotiations have all been completed, and Ukraine has also completed the internal procedures before signing the protocol.
The UK became the 24th WTO member state in Uzbekistan to complete market access negotiations. The Uzbekistan President's website issued a statement on May 14 that the country's President Mirziyoev listened to a special report on Uzbekistan's work to join the WTO and made arrangements for accelerating the promotion of various negotiations and preparations. The statement said that Ukraine has currently held bilateral negotiations with 33 countries on market access issues, and the negotiations in 24 countries have been successfully completed.
