In the first three quarters, my country's total import and export of services increased by 14.5

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, November 5th. The Ministry of Commerce released data on the 5th showing that in the first three quarters of 2024, my country's total import and export of services was 5518.14 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%.

Data show that in the first three quarters, my country's service exports were 2273.34 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%; service imports were 3244.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14%; and the service trade deficit was 971.46 billion yuan.

Knowledge-intensive service trade continued to grow. In the first three quarters, the import and export of knowledge-intensive services was 2133.42 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%. Among them, the export of knowledge-intensive services was 1206.31 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, and personal cultural and entertainment services and other commercial services grew rapidly, with an increase of 21.4% and 8.7% respectively; the import of knowledge-intensive services was 927.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6%, and personal cultural and entertainment services and other commercial services grew rapidly, with an increase of 36.6% and 11.5% respectively.

Travel services are growing rapidly. In the first three quarters, travel services continued to maintain rapid growth, with imports and exports of travel services reaching 1,505.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42.8%, making it the largest area of service trade.
