The launch ceremony of the 2024 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund Thailand project and the "Lanmei Week" commemoration event jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand were held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, on the 5th.Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Han Zhiqiang delivered a speech at the event, saying that in the eight years since its launch, the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation has reaped fruitful results, brought great benefits to people of all countries, and played an important role in maintaining regional prosperity, stability and sustainable development.Thailand is the main initiator and important participant of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, and is also a beneficiary of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation.This time, 18 more Thai projects will be jointly launched. It is believed that this vigorous development momentum will continue, adding inexhaustible impetus to the economic and social development of Thailand and the countries in the basin.Bussadi, Deputy Undersecretary and Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, spoke highly of the positive significance and achievements of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, and thanked the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund for its help in promoting economic recovery and people's livelihood development in various countries.She said that Thailand serves as the co-chair of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation this year and is willing to work closely with China and countries in the basin to jointly build a peaceful and prosperous Lancang-Mekong community with a shared future.Nearly 100 people including the ambassadors of Laos and Myanmar to Thailand, representatives of the embassies of Cambodia and Vietnam in Thailand, as well as relevant Thai government departments and project implementation units attended the event.
