On June 20, the 8th China and Globalization Forum hosted by the Think Tank for Globalization (CCG) was held in Beijing. Resident coordinators and ambassadors to China from more than 20 international organizations and countries including New Zealand and New Zealand attended and delivered speeches one after another. The delegates generally believed that under the current international situation, all countries and regions should work together, unite and help each other, and promote global recovery and development on the basis of adhering to multilateralism and globalization.

Chang Qide, the United Nations resident coordinator in China, said that the COVID-19 epidemic has had a huge impact on the process of globalization, and poverty and conflicts have continued to intensify, triggering conflicts between countries, but it has also brought people the opportunity to reshape their relationship with each other. A new opportunity. People around the world now need to be more united, and scientists and industry experts need to work together. This will become an important weight for reconstructing the development opportunities of multilateralism in the future, and promote global prosperity and development after the new crown pneumonia epidemic. On the way forward, going hand in hand is the fundamental principle of sustainable human development and a solemn commitment made by all members of the United Nations. only in solidarity can this goal be achieved.

AU Ambassador to China Osman believes that the new crown pneumonia epidemic has brought huge losses to people's production, life and social development. For the future, people need to be more cautious and spend more energy to maintain fairness and justice. At the same time, people also need to think about how to better coexist with each other. At present, unilateralism and national protectionism are on the rise, and the game between major powers poses a huge challenge to the formation of a new international pattern. Against this background, the international community needs to open up a new path, honor the solemn commitments made in the past, and promote the common development of all countries.

Portuguese Ambassador to China Du Aojie said that globalization has undergone great changes compared with ten years ago. As the foundation of the international system, it requires open and frank dialogue among all parties. At present, people need to cooperate in more fields, and the more differences there are, the more they need to have dialogues to enhance mutual understanding. only in this way can prejudice and misunderstanding be avoided. "The new crown pneumonia epidemic may have an impact on globalization, but in the face of so many challenges, we should defend the common rules between countries, create a level playing field, abide by international law, actively engage in dialogue and exchanges, and jointly promote global development.”

New Zealand's ambassador to China, Freeman, said that geopolitical factors, supply chain bottlenecks and other issues have hindered the recovery and development of the global economy. New Zealand places great emphasis on promoting open markets and trade flows. At the same time, the integration and cooperation of bilateral and regional economies are being continuously strengthened. In addition, New Zealand pays particular attention to the WTO's multilateral trading system. The norms of this system are very important to each member. The trade dispute settlement mechanism is also an indispensable and important part of the WTO, and it is necessary to ensure that this mechanism can continue to function.

Zhou Haoli, Indonesian Ambassador to China, said that achieving a stable global recovery should be the most important core task after the new crown pneumonia epidemic. The COVID-19 epidemic is a global crisis that requires the joint response of all mankind. Global supply is unbalanced and only unity can deal with these difficult times. Indonesia is driving global recovery in a spirit of cooperation, hoping to connect the interests of developed and developing countries. Indonesia will also make good use of its presidency of the G20 summit in its efforts to restore global liquidity.

Lin Songtian, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said in his concluding remarks that each country has different social systems, values and development stages. China is a beneficiary, promoter and builder of globalization. China's expectations for the 21st century are, first, to achieve common prosperity at home, so that all people can be the beneficiaries of globalization; second, international globalization, committed to promoting common development. "It's not that you lose and I win, but win-win cooperation and common development. As long as we uphold the common concept and continue to abide by the common rules of the United Nations and the WTO, we will definitely be able to achieve it!"
